Franco-German Conference
France - 23/01/2008
The Konrad Adenauer and Friedrich Ebert Foundations together with the Heinrich Heine House are organising a conference entitled "After the Lisbon Treaty: the European Union's new political and social stakes. What is the Franco-German approach?" Jean-Dominique Giuliani, chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation took part in this debate together with Andreas Schockenhoff MP CDU, and Angelica Schwall-Düren MP SPD and Jean Quatremer (journalist).
Conference on energy in Brussels
Brussels - 22/01/2008
As the European Commission publishes the Energy and Climate package the Robert Schuman Foundation organised a debate on future energy mix options on Tuesday 22nd January in Brussels. All issues was addressed including nuclear energy. During the debate a new "Note" was presented by the Foundation entitled "Reviving energy production in Europe: an environmental, industrial and political challenge."
Conference: "The Presidencies of the European Union in 2008"

The Robert Schuman Foundation, together with the Embassy of France in Poland and the Polish Robert Schuman Foundation organised a seminar focussing on "The Presidencies of the European Union in 2008" in Warsaw on 16th January. Pascale Joannin, Director General took part in this meeting along with François Barry-Delongchamps, Ambassador of France in Poland, Jozef Drofenik, Ambassador of Slovenia in Poland, Jan Borkowski, Secretary to the Polish Foreign Affairs Ministry and Anna Radwan-Röhrenschef, Chair of the Polish Foundation.

On 15th January at 18:30 Jérôme Bédier, Chairman of the Europe Committee of the MEDEF, and Jean-Dominique Giuliani, Chairman of Robert Schuman Foundation organised an evening debate on the theme of "Are there any plumbers left in Poland?" Demography, Immigration and the borders of Europe.
Conference in Serbia - "The Reform Treaty, a relaunch of Europe"

The French Cultural Center in Belgrade organised on 12th December a conference, in which Jean-Dominique Giuliani, chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation, took part. He spoke on "The Reform Treaty, a relaunch of Europe", and discussed the subject with Sonja Licht, chairwoman of the Fund for Political Excellence.

Conference on EU neighbourhood policy - Riga

Jean-Dominique Giuliani, chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation will be in Riga on 23rd November to take part in a conference organised by the Latvian Foreign Ministry on "the Baltic States and the European Union's Neighbourhood Policy." He will speak on "political dialogue on a parliamentary level, a tool in the European Neighbourhood Policy."
"How does one speak to citizens about Europe?" - Brussels

The Robert Schuman Foundation, chaired by Jean-Dominique Giuliani, has organised a debate on November 22nd in Brussels entitled "How does one speak to citizens about Europe?". Speaking at the event will be Secretary of State and French government spokesman Laurent Wauquiez.
Conference - "Globalisation and Nation-States in the 21st Century"

On 3rd, 4th and 5th December, the Bureau of European Political Advisers is organising a conference with regard to "Change, innovation and distribution: social, political and economic trends and threats". Jean-Dominique Giuliani, Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation will be the rapporteur of the round table on "Globalisation and Nation-States in the 21st Century."
Conference: "New criminal threats"
Brussels - 30/10/2007
The Robert Schuman Foundation, in partnership with the Department of Research on Contemporary Criminal Threats at Université Paris II, held an international conference on October 30th in Brussels entitled "Europe and new criminal threats". The best European and international experts were on hand to take part in the debate. Jean-Dominique Giuliani, chairman of the Foundation, spoke at the conference and presented the issues surrounding the European response to new criminal threats in Europe.
