Conference on energy in Brussels

As the European Commission publishes the Energy and Climate package the Robert Schuman Foundation organised a debate on future energy mix options on Tuesday 22nd January in Brussels. All issues was addressed including nuclear energy. During the debate a new "Note" was presented by the Foundation entitled "Reviving energy production in Europe: an environmental, industrial and political challenge."


As the European Commission publishes the Energy and Climate package the Robert Schuman Foundation organised a debate on future energy mix options on Tuesday 22nd January in Brussels. All issues was addressed including nuclear energy. The debate was conducted by Jean-Dominique Giuliani, Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation. Herbert Reul (German MEP for the EPP-ED group, member of the Industry, Research and Energy Committee and the Temporary Committee on Climate Change) presented the stakes of the energy issue in Europe. During the debate, a new "Note" was presented by the Foundation entitled "Reviving energy production in Europe: an environmental, industrial and political challenge." The author of the note, Antoine Pellion, argued in favour of better co-operation between the Member States to develop a true European energy strategy.
