Kosovo's prospects of integrating the European Union

On 20th December 2013 the Robert Schuman Foundation hosted in Paris Ms Vlora Citaku, the European Integration Minister of Kosovo. Discussions focused on "Kosovo's prospects of integrating the European Union", after the decision to bring Kosovo's supervised independence was brought to an end on 10th September 2012.
14th Franco-German strategic forum "Can Europe still defend itself?"

On 28th November 2012, the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the Ifri (Cerfa) organised the 14th Franco-German strategic forum in Berlin entitled "Can Europe still defend itself?" The Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation, Jean-Dominique Giuliani, spoke during the first session, which focused on the need to introduce a Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP).

On 27th November 2012 in Paris, Toute l'Europe, in partnership with the Department of Legal and Administrative Information (DILA) organised a breakfast debate on the theme of "Enlargements in times of crisis: are we moving towards a two-tier Europe?" Indeed, in a difficult European context what capacity does the EU have to continue the enlargement process? The Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation, Jean-Dominique Giuliani spoke alongside his Excellence Muhamedin Kullashi, Ambassador for the Republic of Kosovo in Paris and Liêm Hoang Ngoc, MEP (S&D Group).

Review of the State of Franco-German Relations

As part of the 50th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty, the Goethe Institute in Paris organised a conference and an evening-debate on 13th November 2012 to discuss the effects of the change of government on the political relations between France and Germany and the changes in attitude in Franco-German cooperation. The General Manager of the Robert Schuman Foundation, Pascale Joannin, spoke at the conference on "A new layout in Franco-German cooperation as part of Europe".

Developing the Franco-German relationship - Fifty years after the Elysée Treaty

As part of the preparations for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty the Robert Schuman Foundation and the Cerfa (IFRI) organised a seminar in Paris entitled "Developing the Franco-German Relationship - 50 years afer the Elysée Treaty" on 23rd October 2012. This seminar focuses on three round tables - the first chaired by Jean-Dominique Giuliani focuses on the theme "Youth, training, employment, which opportunities are open to France and Germany during the Crisis?", the second focuses on "Which institutional framework for Franco-German cooperation in tomorrow's Europe?" and the third on "The Future of the CSDP: is a Franco-German avant-garde possible?"
5th Meetings of Europe House

On 19th October 2012 Jean-Dominique Giuliani took part in the inaugural conference of the 5th Meetings of Europe House in Rennes and Haute-Bretagne-Europe Direct "What future for the Euromediterranean?" He inaugurated the first round table "The shores of the Mediterranean linked since ancient times."
World Forum for Democracy

The World forum for democracy convened between 5th-11th October in Strasbourg. The Robert Schuman Foundation, one of the event's partners, organised a round table on 10th October together with the European Movement-France entitled "Europe, a global player?" Jean-Dominique Giluliani, the Foundation's Chairman, moderated the debate with a group of experts including Simon Serfaty, Kinga Brudzinska, Carine Dartiguepeyrou, Michel Foucher and Maxime Lefebvre.
