On 26th September 2012, Jean-Dominique Giuliani, Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation and Jean-Paul Betbèze, economist, member of the Foundation's Scientific Committee are the winners of the "Understanding Europe Better" Prize 2012. The prize was given to them by the center of the European culture at the townhall of Saint-Jean d'Angély for their book "Les 100 mots de l'Europe" published by PUF in the series "Que sais-je".

On 24th September 2012, the Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation, Jean-Dominique Giuliani spoke in the new series of conferences organised by the Maison de l'Europe (Haute-Bretagne) that took place in Rennes on the theme of "Europe, beyond the crisis, what will the after effects be?".

On 19th September 2012, the Robert Schuman Foundation, the Korea Foundation and the Yonsei University organised the first EU/Korea forum at the European Parliament in Brussels. On this occasion speakers presented the state of relations between the EU and Korea in various areas one year after the signature of the free trade agreement between these two entities.

On 17th September 2012, the Robert Schuman Foundation, the leading French research centre on Europe was awarded the Jury's Special Think Tank Prize -this competition is organised by the French Think Tank Observatory, together with Burson-Marsteller and the CCI France.

On 11th July 2012 in Brussels the Robert Schuman Foundation is organising a meeting with Andreas Mavroyiannis, the Cypriot European Affairs Minister and Reimer Böge, MEP and rapporteur on the multi-annual financial framework. The debate will be hosted by Jean-Dominique Giuliani - the Foundation's Chairman. The speakers will discuss the present issues at stake in the multi-annual financial framework and political perspectives. The multi-annual financial framework has to be conlcuded during the Cypriot presidency and before the end of the year.

On 21st June 2012, the Robert Schuman Foundation received American Students from the Texas University in Paris. Two debates were organized for the students : one chaired by Magali Balent, Project Manager and research Fellow for the Robert Schuman Foundation, on 2012 elections in France and the place of Europe in the political discourses. The other chaired by Alain Fabre, expert on Economy and business financial advisor, on the Euro crisis and its impact on the EU.

Jacques Rigaud, the Foundation's Deputy Chair travelled to Mönchengladbach (Germany) on 15th and 16th June 2012 to take part in a conference on the theme "From Euro-Crisis to the European Crisis". He was notably speaking on the question of Political Europe, a new challenge for the EU in the context of the crisis.

The Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation Jean-Dominique Giuliani went to Berlin (Germany) on 12th June 2012 in order to participate to the debate organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation on a burning issue: "More Europe! Yes, but how? Current challenges in Germany and the EU to strengthen the European cooperation ". In his introductory speech, the Chairman explains the urgency "to regain the trust outside the EU, on financial markets, but also inside Europe, within the hope offered by the citizens." In the long time run, he explained the need to establish "a coalition of volunteers" on a Franco-German foundation.

On 12th June 2012 in Lyon, the European Movement - Lyon-Rhône organised a debate with Thierry Chopin, Studies Director at the Foundation. He presented the "Schuman Report on Europe, State of the Union 2012" of which he is the joint director, with Michel Foucher.

On 24th May 2012, the President of the Robert Schuman Foundation, Jean-Dominique Giuliani, received at the European Commission's representation in France, the Finnish Foreign Minister, Alexander Stubb, who spoke on the topic "Truths about Europe".
