On 9th October the Bernardins College in Paris is organising a study day on "New Challenges for Ukraine and Europe" notably with Philippe de Suremain, former Ambassador and member of the Foundation's Scientific Committee.

On 7th and 8th October the 6th New World Forum will be taking place in Paris. It comprises several plenary sessions bringing together many personalties. One of these sessions will be on the theme "What kind of Europe for the Future Generations?" Jean-Claude Trichet, former ECB President, Irina Bokova, Director General of UNESCO, Hannes Swoboda, former MEP, Arnaud Montebourg, former Minister, Jean-David Levitte, Ambassador for France, Jean-Dominique Giuliani, Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation, will be taking part in this event of which the Foundation is a partner.

The Department for Legal and Administrative Information is organising a meeting/debate on 9th September 2014 in Paris on the theme: "Should the UK leave the European Union?" with Pauline Schapper, Professor of Contemporary British Civilisation at the Sorbonne and a member of the Institut universitaire de France, Sophie Pedder, head of the Paris office of "The Economist" and Thierry Chopin, Studies Director at the Robert Schuman Foundation.

Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, and Wolfgang Schäuble attended the conference organized by the Robert Schuman Foundation in Paris on July 18, 2014 about the future of the euro area.

The European Ideas Network (EIN) is holding its summer university in Portugal on 19th June 2014. The aim is to look into the "achievements and the future role" of the network. The Robert Schuman Foundation's General Manager Pascale Joannin will be speaking as part of a round table focusing on "the contribution made by think-tanks and foundations to the process of policy creation.

The Comité Europe de la Défense des Auditeurs Jeunes of the IHEDN (higher institute for Defence Studies) is organising a conference on 27th May 2014 at the Ecole Militaire in which the Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation, Jean-Dominique Giuliani, is taking part on the theme of "Which challenges does Europe face after the European Elections?"

On 27th May 2014 the Foundations Hanns Seidel and Robert Schuman are organising a conference at the Goethe Institute in Brussels on the results of the European elections. First Manfred Weber MEP and Vice-President of the EPP Group, emmber of the Constitutional Affairs Committee will analyse the results. Then Pascale Joannin, General Manager of the Robert Schuman Foundation will debate alongside Karel Lannoo, Director of the Centre for European Policy Studies on the aftermath of these elections.

The European Movement of Nord-Pas-de-Calais is hosting the Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation at the Chamber of Commerce of Béthune on 16th May. He will be speaking on the theme: "Why and how Europe will recover". After the conference he will be signing his most recent publication "Pourquoi et comment l'Europe restera le coeur du monde."

On 15th and 16th May 2014 the University of Paris Descartes is organising a conference on the theme "The European Union, a new political reality" during which Thierry Chopin, Studies Director at the Foundation will be speaking. He notably explores the issue of European political leadership.

On the occasion of Europe Day, European Parliament opened its doors on 4th May 2014 in Strasbourg. The Robert Schuman Foundation was present alongside other actors from civil society, European political groups and European Parliament services (translation, communication, commissions) to present the EU's work and that of the parliamentary assembly. The next open day will be on 10th May in Luxembourg and 17th May in Brussels.
