21/10/2014
On 21st October Jean-Dominique Giuliani, Chairman of the Foundation presented during the 7th conference in the series "Europe in dialogue with the 21st century world", his book "Pourquoi et comment l'Europe restera le cœur du monde, petit traité d'optimisme" (Why and how Europe will remain the centre of the world, a small treaty of optimism). During this conference he explained that Europe had a cultural and philosophical wealth at its disposal and that one should be careful when one complains about, attacks or doubts Europe. In spite of the crisis he recalled that the economic unification of Europe still had to be completed. He insisted on the fact that Europe's weakness is one for the world and also for Europeans. He concluded the conference with a touch of optimism, saying "I chose to be a European because it's good for my country and it's good for Europeans."
