Growth and Regulation

The Council of Notariats of the European Union (CNEU) is organising a conference on 24th March on the theme "growth and regulation" together with the Robert Schuman Foundation. Discussions will be held by two panels "Does regulation serve to increase growth?" and "How to regulate effectively". The conference will take place at the Representation of the Land of Baden-Württemberg in Brussels.
Ukraine: between development and revolution

As part of the international week of the university of Lille, Philippe de Suremain, former Ambassador, member of the Foundation's Scientific Committee will be speaking on 24th November during a conference on the theme: "Ukraine: between development and revolution."
European Security Forum
Brussels - 17/11/2014
The European Security Forum was organised on the initiative of several European political organisations and groups on 17th and 18th November in Brussels. Several Defence Ministers, the EU's High Representative Federica Mogherini as well as other experts attended. On 18th November Jean-Dominique Giuliani, the Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation moderated a round table on the theme of differences in perception of security issues in Europe.
Economic and Social Councils and the expectations of European civil society

On 14th November 2014 the CESE and the European ESC, together with the Robert Schuman Foundation are organising an event entitled "Economic and social councils and the expectations of European civil society." Jean-Dominique Giuliani, Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation will be speaking as the meeting opens. It is obligatory to enrol.
The Future of France and Europe as they face the world's turmoil

From 13th to 15th November the autumn university of the French Federation of the 'Maisons de l'Europe' will be taking place in Nantes - it brings together France's 35 'Maisons de l'Europe'. The inaugural session will take place on 13th November focusing on "Europe's new face after the European elections" notably with a speech by Jean-Paul Gauzès, former MEP and member of the Foundation's board. The closing conference on 15th November will focus on "The Future of France and Europe as they face the world's turmoil," with Louis Schweitzer, General Commissioner for Investment and Jean-Dominique Giuliani, the Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation. Both conferences are open to the public on enrolment.
France's European and global role - can she lead?

Jean-Dominique Giuliani, Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation will be taking part in the conference organised by the Ditchley Foundation from 23rd to 25th October on the theme of the place and role of France in the EU. Hosted by Christine Ockrent participants will debate France's ability to be a leading country in the EU and its place in the world.
Why and how Europe will remain the centre of the world

On 21st October Jean-Dominique Giuliani, Chairman of the Foundation presented during the 7th conference in the series "Europe in dialogue with the 21st century world", his book "Pourquoi et comment l'Europe restera le cœur du monde, petit traité d'optimisme" (Why and how Europe will remain the centre of the world, a small treaty of optimism). During this conference he explained that Europe had a cultural and philosophical wealth at its disposal and that one should be careful when one complains about, attacks or doubts Europe. In spite of the crisis he recalled that the economic unification of Europe still had to be completed. He insisted on the fact that Europe's weakness is one for the world and also for Europeans. He concluded the conference with a touch of optimism, saying "I chose to be a European because it's good for my country and it's good for Europeans."
