On 19th December 2011 the Chairman of the Foundation, Jean-Dominique Giuliani took part in a debate at the Bulgarian National Assembly on the occasion of the second anniversary of the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty. Jean-Dominique Giuliani's speech started with an analysis of the financial crisis, he then revealed his ideas, notably the solutions that he suggested were necessary. On 19th December, the Assembly launched an information and communication campaign devoted to the most urgent European issues.

On 8th November 2011 the chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation, Jean-Dominique Giuliani, took part in the 10th congress on European Security and Defence in Berlin. He spoke on "The New Challenges facing European Defence and Security: which answers can NATO and the EU provide?".

On the 30th and 31st May 2011 in association with the Robert Schuman Foundation and the European Council, the International Francophone Organisation organised a regional conference in Sofia (Bulgaria) on the freedom of the press and the regulation of the media in Central and Eastern Europe. Gérard Saint Paul, journalist and member of the Robert Schuman Foundation's scientific council spoke at the inauguration session, giving a presentation of the freedom of the press in Western European countries and the challenges experienced by the press in Western Europe.

As part of the project "Women for Europe and the Citizens' Initiative", the Institute for Democracy, Konstantinos Karamanlis is organised a conference on 13th May 2011 in Athens (Greece) called "More Europe for Women, The European Citizens' Initiative".

On March 1st 2011 the Finnish Institute for International Affairs organised a conference in Helsinki (Finland) on the present economic turbulence in Europe and on the future of the euro area. The Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation, Jean-Dominique Giuliani spoke on the French and European outlook.

The Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy organised on 5th November 2010 a conference about the future of ESDP within the Lisbon Treaty, with Jean-Dominique Giuliani, Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation.

The Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation Jean-Dominique Giuliani attended the EPP Group Study Days in Brussels, which started on 13th October 2010. He spoke on 15th October about the implementation of the European External Action Service (EEAS).

As part of the 60th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, the Centre virtuel de la connaissance sur l'Europe (CVCE) (Virtual Centre of Knowledge on Europe) together with the Robert Schuman Foundation organised a competition from 8th February to 23rd April 2010 on the history of the construction of Europe designed for College and Lycée pupils. The results were delivered on 17th May in Luxembourg.

On 6th and 7th May 2010 the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organised a conference in Berlin entitled "European Integration and German Constitutional Identity" which was attended by Robert Schuman Foundation Chairman, Jean-Dominique Giuliani.

The committee of the European People's Party group (EPP) met on 15th and 16th April 2010 in Kosice to define its position on the major topics of the day. Discussions concentrated on the impact of the economic and financial crisis on employment and social matters as well as on a long-term economic vision for Europe. Commission members took this opportunity to affirm their support for the EU 2020 Strategy and underlined their belief that education is the most important factor for future EU growth. They also discussed questions of enlargement, referring to the possible need to reinforce and supplement current membership criteria, known as the Copenhagen criteria.
