Valéry Giscard d'Estaing has accepted the Foundation's invitation to speak on the occasion of Humboldt University's European meetings on November 9th at 10 am during a conference entitled "Can a European patriotism be created?". He will then hand out diplomas to the master's students in European studies from Berlin universities. He accepted to be the patron of the 2006 class.

On november 6th, the Robert Schuman Foundation has planned, along with the Warsaw Institute of Public Affairs and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, a conference entitled "Mutual perception and cooperation in the European Union". A poll ordered by the CSA-opinion agency on the perception of the Polish in France and vice-versa will also be presented.

On November 4th and 5th, the Foundation organised a conference in cooperation with the European Commission, the Robert Schuman Foundation in Poland and the Foundation for a Free and Democratic Bulgaria. The subject was "Promoting an active European citizenship".

The summer conference of the European Ideas Network (EIN) took place from September 21-23 in Lyon. The chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation spoke during the second roundtable.
