Events

During their stay in Paris the students visited the Senate and the National Assembly. They attended a presentation by researchers at the European Institute for Security Studies (EU ISS) on foreign policy and notably on the situation in Syria. They also addressed the issue of Franco-German relations with leading executives from the Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Hôtel de Matignon.

At the Quai d'Orsay the American students visited the Salon de l'Horloge, the famous room in which Robert Schuman delivered his declaration on 9th May1950. This is believed to be the founding text of European integration.
The American students spent 14 days in Europe (Warsaw, Brussels and Paris) following a programme devoted to European and national institutions. This will enable them to learn more about and gain a better understanding of how the European Union functions.
