Freedom in the days of Internet

The Robert Schuman Foundation in partnership with the Centre for European Studies (CES) organised a conference on 19th October 2011 at the Luxembourg Palais (Paris) on the theme of "freedom in the days of the internet".


The Robert Schuman Foundation together with the Centre for European Studies organised a debate on freedom in the realm of the internet on 19th October at the Palais du Luxembourg. The first round table chaired by MP Lionel Tardy, member of the Economic Affairs Committee and the Internet, Audiovisual and IT Society Study Group, emphasised the need for the protection of freedom on the internet. Debate at the second round table, moderated by Catherine Morin-Desailly, Senator of Seine-Maritime, Chair of the Media and New Technologies Study Group and also rapporteur of the Media Mission for the Culture and Communications Committee focused on the future of the digitial economy and notably on Smart TV.
